Today, will you act “as if” it has already happened?

I want to challenge you to take a few minutes to think about something that you really want.  It may be something of an urgent nature like enough money to pay your bills, a good word from your doctor, a long awaited message from a friend or an opportunity you have been dreaming about for a long time.In Florence Scovel Shinn’s book, The Game of Life and How to Play It, she writes:

“If one asks for success and prepares for failure, he will get the situation he has prepared for. Man must prepare for the thing he has asked for, when there isn’t’t the slightest sign of it in sight.”
Here are the steps to take to prepare for what you want.1. Define what it is you want with the highest level of clarity you can imagine.2. Identify the barriers and thoughts of resistance that could come into your mind.

3. Systematically release each thought or feeling that comes up.  Write id won on a piece of paper and burn it!

4. Create a detailed picture in your mind of you receiving what it is you want.

5. Identify the feeling of receiving what you want in your physical body. Is it a warm, peaceful feeling in your gut, a release of pain in your neck or a simple feeling of joy in your whole being?

6. ACT AS IF IT HAS ALREADY HAPPENED!

7. Tell your story to others!

Be Strong with Tuned In Coaching
on Blog Talk Radio

Please take time to listen to this archived version of the latest radio broadcast.  We had a great discussion on using your strengths to create your life and adding value to the lives of others.

“I recognized where I was excelling and where my energy needed to change.”

Jennifer is the expert on strengths and the alignment of those strengths to the energy you bring to the table. With her help, and the ELI, I recognized where I was excelling and where my energy needed to change. It was a very fresh perspective that I hadn’t seen previously and it validated some of my beliefs, while showing me a new tool that I could consider for my clients.

“I feel more empowered as I venture into new roles both professionally and personally. “

get-attachmentLast week I had an extremely productive Strengths Development session with Jennifer Stokes. Jennifer offered insight into how my strengths play into my daily life and how I can use them to improve communication and achieve more positive results in my relationships. Not only did our session make me more aware of my unique strengths and how they drive my persona and decision making but also how I can improve and develop those strengths.
Jennifer created a detailed plan with specific tasks that will assist me as I move forward in setting new life goals. She assesses your strengths and is keenly able to tap into our natural talents and recommend ways to maximize those strengths for the greatest potential.
A very informative session and truly enlightening for me. Looking forward to next time! Thanks Jennifer.

What is the real definition of “DO IT NOW”?!

I just heard a great definition of NOW:

Non-Optional-Work

I instinctively went into parent mode.  Parenting is about telling your children what to do or what not to do; because we love them. Sometimes we call it nurturing or tough love, but we are always designing a curriculum that will lead them out the door and into the world ready for success.

The downside of this thinking is that we are not honoring an individual’s right to choose.  The more we offer choices,  the higher level of engagement the other person experiences,  and the greater risk of what we need to get done, does not get done.

The solution:  Establish relationships based on a consistently high level of engagement. Knowing the person’s strengths is the easiest way to do this.  Figure out how to activate the person’s strengths to get the task done………NOW!

Jennifer gave us hope and showed us a way forward.

Mel_&_Di_2Jennifer Seaver Stokes helped my wife and I turn our lives around during a very difficult period after I became unemployed.  We were depressed and had no idea what to do to find a new life for ourselves.  I had been employed in the same job for almost 40 years.  Needless to say, our income took a nosedive.

Jennifer was able to show us we had talents that could be put to good use.  She recommended we take the StrengthsFinder 2.0 assessment. Once we identified out top five strengths, she was able to point out just exactly WHY my wife and I were a good team (we knew that but to dissect what makes us work so well together was amazing!).

She gave us hope and showed us a way forward.  Her suggestions were things we could actually DO and have totally changed our outlook for the future.  So far we are going along just fine and are enjoying life.

Jennifer is a really positive person and it’s definitely catching!  She has an amazing ability to get to the heart of the matter and put her finger on the magic button.  I heartily recommend her as personal development coach.

When I started working with Jennifer, I immediately felt a deep sense of comfort.

Shelley Crane“When I started working with Jennifer, I immediately felt a deep sense of comfort.  Jennifer tapped into me very quickly. I was so relaxed with her ability to ask me empowering questions and was amazed at how she just pulled the answers out of me.

I was confused in many areas of my life and she helped me to define what I really wanted. I gained clarity after each session as Jennifer took me on an inner journey. The techniques Jennifer used to keep me engaged were absolutely enchanting. She was able to get to the real issues quickly and helped me see where I was at and how I wanted to move forward. I released many of my fears and started looking at things from a new more positive perspective. She has a unique way of getting you to look at different sides of a situation.

The biggest benefit I received was her ability to accept me for me. I felt non-judgment and this helped me to feel safe and open. My favorite thing she did was helped me to discover my strengths. She broke it down and taught me how to value these strengths and use them in my daily life. She is intuitive, wise, smart and very funny. She creates a safe place to open your heart and explore what really matters in life.”

I no longer feel as if I am “working” but rather living the life that I was always meant to live.

Jodie for Nia“Jennifer was instrumental in motivating me to isolate my strengths and passion and in turn, combine the two into a successful business venture. Through her personal coaching and utilizing the content in StrengthsFinder2.0, I gained the confidence to pursue business ownership in the health and wellness field. Within a year from our breakthrough session where I was challenged to envision what my life would be like if I allowed myself to follow a direction which made my heart sing, I no longer feel as if I am “working” but rather living the life that I was always meant to live. I credit Tuned In Coaching for this newfound freedom and would happily recommend sessions with Jennifer to those who are looking for a direction during life transitions or during times of professional and/or personal uncertainty.”
